Salpi is an American-Armenian with a long history of involvement in the Armenian sphere. In the past she has been involved with the Zoryan Institute, was Editor/Publisher of AIM Magazine, worked at the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2001-2008 as Special Assistant to Minister of Foreign Affairs Vardan Oskanyan, after which she was Director of the Civilitas Foundation.
She is currently Director of the USC Dornsife Institute of Armenian Studies.
