Status

Very rare species. Included in the Red Book of the former Soviet Union.

Habitat in Armenia

Can be met in semidesert habitats along the River Arax, and from around Yerevan, in the west, until Shvanidzor village, Meghri region, in the east.

Number in the wild

There are only 19 specimens known, 8 out of which were in the former Soviet Union.

Reasons for decrease in number

The number has always been very small but stable.

No data is available

Measures of protection taken

Preserved at Khosrov Nature Reserve.
