Jon Huntsman

Jon Huntsman is a well-known American businessman. He is President of the "Huntsman" corporation.

The "Huntsman" corporation is implementing numerous charity programs in Armenia. In 1988, after a devastating earthquake, the corporation carried out numerous construction projects and donated $2.1mln to the victims. During the following years the Huntsmans have provided $18mln worth clothing and food t to Armenia and paid 40 visits to the country.

During one of his visits in 2005 Huntsman had meetings with then Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan.

Sharp and Associates Company owner Edgar Sharp and owner of Reud, Morgan and Queen Company Rein Allison Reud, who had arrived in Armenia along with Huntsman, were present at the meeting with Armenian leader. Welcoming the guests, the Armenian President stated Armenian people recall with gratitude J. Huntsman, who extended a helping hand to Armenians after the Spitak earthquake in 1988.

During the other meeting Minister Oskanyan expressed his appreciation of Huntsman's philanthropic activities, pointed out the importance of the "Huntsman" corporation's aid to the Armenian people and emphasized the investments in the disaster zone.

In his turn, Huntsman pointed out positive changes in Armenia and shared his impressions of cooperation with the country's authorities. He also presented future projects of establishing an oncological center in Armenia and allocating grants to those wishing to receive their education in theUSA.
